A quick piece of news.
Around spring time I entered a few photographs into the inaugural Fine Art Photography Awards (FAPA) contest. It is the first contest that I have entered for quite some time so I entered it in the hope of something doing well but not expecting too much; given the sheer volume and outstanding competition that you often find yourself up against with these competitions you can do nothing but hope for the best.
I received an email this morning announcing that the winners has been picked and whilst I did not place in a prize winning position, I am very happy to announce that the image I entered in the Landscape/Seascape section ('Seven Trees in Snow' pictured below) received an honorable mention, which is very gratifying indeed. It is very easy to be hyper-critical of your own photographs, seeing the flaws where others do not, so this is a nice shot of positive reinforcement.
The winners and nominees in the amateur Landscape/Seascape category can be seen by clicking here, and you can view the rest of the winners here. The galleries are very much worth checking out as there is some beautiful work on display.
